General Membership Benefits

Information Services

The Association and affiliated Wine Education Centre provide a full time information service to members and the public from 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.Members are listed on the Association's Member Directory on this Website. This provides direct links to member companies' websites and other information.

Members receive the following Wine Industry Association of WA newsletters: Twice-weekly Wine Scene e-newsletter, which summarises up-to-date industry news, opportunities and events; Bi-monthly Members newsletter which details industry achievements and provides member updates on information of note.

Marketing

Membership allows participation in regular domestic and international West Australian wine industry promotions and exhibitions co-ordinated by the Association, including the quarterly themed "Taste of Western Australia" events targeted at corporate employees, trade & WEC students held in the Perth CBD. Access to visiting national and offshore wine journalists, retailers, wholesalers and restaurateurs is also provided to members by the Association.

Register of Winegrapes/Winestocks

The Association maintains a Winegrape Register under "Resources" on the website where Association members can list any surplus or shortage of winegrapes or wine stocks.

Wine Education

Membership enables participation in the Association's highly successful Wine Education Centre (WEC). Members are entitled to a 10% discount on class fees for staff attending WEC Primary and Varietal courses. Members are entitled to promote new release wines and company events and promotions via "The Juice" e-newsletter distributed quarterly to past and current Wine Education Centre students, local wine enthusiasts and all member groups.

Issues Management / Political Lobby

The Association regularly briefs and lobbies state and federal politicians, government agencies, other industry organisations and the public on issues or concern and/or importance to the West Australian wine industry. Membership also permits access to the Association's Technical Committee which is responsible for formulating WIAWA policy and co-ordinating wine industry projects.
