Taxation

WIAWA has been working with WFA and the other state associations to ensure we have a united position on taxation. This is important as the outcome of the Henry review will guide the Federal government on alcohol taxation during the next budget. This week all parties held a meeting in South Australia to review the work to date and plan the work required over the next six months. Where required WFA and WIAWA will hold individual meetings or group workshops over the coming months in order to keep members informed and encourage a discussion on taxation issues.

At the last board meeting WIAWA reaffirmed its position to support the current wine tax system as we believe this provides for the best outcome for the industry.  There has been considerable work done to come to this conclusion. There has been a lot of discussion throughout the industry on wine taxation and WIAWA are continuing to strive for the best outcome for our members.  If any members would like to contact me to discuss taxation issues please call (08) 9226 1188 or email davidellement@winewa.asn.au.
