Wine Business Solutions Workshops

Help for WA Wineries

Help is on its way for WA winemakers. The federal government Department of Science and Industry will fund the delivery of new Direct to Customer and Wine Tourism workshops to be delivered by Wine Business Solutions. These will be free to attend for WA wine producers.

The two-day programs will cover strategy formulation, creating an unforgettable customer experience, building a fan base of loyal customers and customer engagement leveraging all of the latest tools, technology and social media.

The dates are;

Workshop One – The Swan Valley at Sandalford Winery on the 23rd and 24th of August

Workshop Two – Bunbury at the Sanctuary Golf Resort on the 25th and 26th of August

Workshop Three – Margaret River at Watershed Winey on the 29th and 30th of August

Workshops Four – Denmark at the Community Resource Centre on the 1st and 2nd of September

DAFWA Workshops - Grape and Wine Updates

Margaret River
When – 1.30pm to 5.00pm, Thursday, 8 October 2015
Where – Quality Inn Margaret River, 78 Wallcliffe Rd
Cost - $10 per person

Description: This key topic is to introduce the national project ‘Assessing clonal variability in Chardonnay and Shiraz for future climate change’ which will lead into the opportunity to taste 9 Chardonnay clones from Margaret River and Riverland for comparison. Shiraz clones will also be available to taste (11 wines) from Margaret River and Barossa for comparison.
Other DAFWA staff will give updates on local pests and new biosecurity tools under development. There will be 10-15min in the program for an update on WoWA business and finally a representative from Curtin will present on some recently completed research.


Mount Barker
When – 1.30pm to 5.00pm, Thursday, 15 October 2015
Where – Football clubroom at Souness Park, McDonald Avenue, Mount Barker Cost - $10 per person

Description: This key topic is to introduce the national project ‘Assessing clonal variability in Chardonnay and Shiraz for future climate change’ which will lead into the opportunity to taste 13 Chardonnay clones from Mount Barker, Henty and Margaret River for comparison.
Shiraz clones will also be available to taste (7 wines) from Margaret River and Grampians for comparison. Other DAFWA staff will give updates on local pests and new biosecurity tools under development. There will be 10-15min in the program for an update on WoWA business and finally a representative from Curtin will present on some recently completed research. As previously discussed it would be appreciated if WoWA can assist in the facilitation of registration and acceptance of monies.


Both events will attract a cost of $10.00 per person.
