Competitive New Rates for Australia Post

The 2018-19 WA wine industry agreement with Australia Post has been finalised.

The new agreement offers very competitive rates for wine producers to most destinations within WA and interstate. The contract now uses the eParcel service and producers must establish an eParcel account with Australia Post to access the contracted rates. Please contact Wines of WA at winewa@winewa.asn.au for assistance in doing so.

You can access the new rate schedule here and the eParcel guide book here.

Note that the new eParcel rates offer significantly reduced rates in comparison to the superseded parcel post service rates to most destinations, in particular to all capital cities and major regional centres. In some instances, rates to country areas will have increased.

As previously, there are two zones: W0 for Perth Metro lodgements and; W2 for south-west lodgements. Additionally, there are now 2 price bands for each zone as outline below:

Band A - for businesses sending more than 1000 parcels per year:

Improved same state metro rates and local region pricing.

  • Perth (W0) to Perth (W0) now $6.75 (from $6.95) ONLY $5.25 for second carton to same address.

  • South West (W2) to Perth (W0) is now only $7.50

  • From Southwest (W2) to Southwest (W2) has reduced by 35% (Now only $18 for 16kg, down from $27)

Band B - no minimum annual volumes to receive special rates:

Competitive tiered pricing - as your volumes grow, pricing improves.

Improved same state metro rates and local region pricing.

  • Improved local rate, Southwest (W2) to Southwest was $27, now $20.00

Services for all bands:

  • Compensation via Transit Cover for lost or damaged wine can be included at a special rate of 0.6% per $100, 40% off regular price.

  • A fully tracked service via  eParcel.

  • All parcels lodged on the wine service will receive at no extra charge a mandatory ID check if the receiver appears under 25.

Stay tuned for further information regarding additional services through eParcel.

Receivers will also be sent notification inflight advising them that a wine delivery is on its way and that a person over 18 must be home to receive the order, this will result in a more positive experience for your customers.
